Call 811 or seek medical attention if you or someone you know has a burn
C.E.A.S.E
MINOR BURN FIRST AID
C- Cool
Cool burn by running cool (not cold) water for at least 5 minutes
E- Eliminate
Remove all jewelry (eg. watches or rings) from burned area as soon as possible
A- Act
Take OTC pain relievers Apply aloe vera lotion for relief
Cover the burn with a sterile gauze bandage or clean cloth
S- Seek medical help if fever persists, pain isn’t relieved, or
redness spreads beyond the burn
E- Electrolytes
Give electrolyte drinks like Gatorade if the person appears dehydrated

– Do not use high power to draw equipment with extension cords, multioutlets or outlet extenders
– Have sufficient ventilation to prevent overheating

– Use Tamper Resistant receptacles
– Replace missing broken cover plates
– Power bar safety ensure they are not overloaded

CORDS
– Replacecords that are damaged or frayed insulation
– Ensure plugs are inserted all the way

OFFICE ACCESSORIES
(ie.space heaters, walkingpads, mug warmer etc.)
– Heat emitting devices can cause contact burns
– Walking pads can cause friction burns

SMOKE ALARM AND CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS
– Ensure alarms and detectors are functioning and maintained

EVACUATION PLAN
– Have an escape plan for safety in case of fire
