November 29th is #GivingTuesday and we would like to thank Calgary Firefighter, Mike Norris.

Mike completed the Goggins challenge and raised $1300 for @hotstuffcalgary

Mike speaks about his experience below:

The Goggins Challenge consists of running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. It works out to 48 miles or 77 km over days. The nighttime runs were by far the hardest as my body was extremely sore and stiff. Add in the lack of sleep and the cold weather it was tough to get going.

It’s the first time I have ever attempted this run. I thought it would be fun and challenging both mentally and physically and it definitely was, but knowing we were raising money for a good cause helped push me along.

Once I decided to attempt this challenge I felt it would be the right thing to do to try and raise some money. Not only would it help those who it was donated to, but it would add to the accountability and the motivation to complete the 48 hour challenge

I chose CFBTS because I believe in the work they do and the people they can help with any amount that has been donated. Every little bit helps.

Although there were times during the 48 hours which were painful, there was a big sense of accomplishment when it was over and we saw how much money had been raised
