With August here, the CFBTS has helped to support the work of several undergraduate summer students.  This year, Apolline Pistek worked on “Multimodal mechanical examination of human skin following burn injury and split thickness skin grafting” with Dr. Gabriel.  Apolline was awarded a scholarship from the Program for Undergraduate Research Experience.  Keerthana Chockalingham worked with Dr. Biernaksie and Gabriel on “Fibrosis and regeneration in human wound healing.  She was awarded summer studentships from the O’Brien Centre and Stem Cell Network.  Erika Ormita worked with Dr. Gabriel and Keekyoung Kim, PhD in the Faculty of Engineering on “Optimization of a photo-crosslinkable material for wound healing applications.”  Erika received a Biomedical Engineering summer studentship for her work.
